How to batch content?

BY Teja Vrščaj Feb 16, 2022

Have you ever spent more than an hour creating, writing a description, and then publishing one Instagram post? We have a solution for you; a great time-saving technique, with which you will write the whole week’s description for posts in one hour. And there is a name for that – content batching!

How to batch content?
What is Content Batching & how can you benefit from it?

Content batching is a time management method in which you create all of your captions or graphic content in one sitting. It is one of the most efficient ways to create engaging social media content. It enables you to put together a more consistent (and stress-free) social media strategy. We recommend you follow the next steps in order to make a great strategy.

First, determine your content pillars. This means that you choose a couple of topics (we recommend 3-5 topics), which you will debate on your social media and make content in regards to those topics. In this way, you are able to create content even faster, without panicking and posting last minute. What is more important, in that way your audience will know what to expect, and you are building trust with them, while you share the consistent message through your social media.

The second part includes a few statistics and analytics. For a better understanding of your audience, it is best that you analyse your posts – with what kind of content they engage. You can create additional high-performing content after you know what went well (and what didn’t).

“Reusing the same content into numerous formats saves time and guarantees that your finest content ideas are seen by your target audience.”

You can pick what type of information to group for best results by noting what received the most saves, views, clicks, and comments.

One plus one equals two, and identifying your pillars plus analyzing your content equals great ideas for content on your social media! Make your content relevant each week by noting any important dates, trying out some trends, reviewing questions from your audience, using your content pillars and analytics, and just – brainstorm it and plan it out

The description under your post is extremely important, so focus your energy on that too. The hook in your caption is the first line that will attract your viewers and cause them to stop scrolling. Use language that will entice readers to continue reading. Don’t forget to use line breaks to avoid cluttered captions. It will also make reading and skimming long captions easier. Want to add personality, color, and emotion to your caption, making it more appealing to users, but you don’t know how to? Emojis are here to help with that! 🙌 When discussing captions, call to action is your best friend  –  you may invite your followers to leave a comment, save the post for later, click on the link in your bio, or browse your profile.

After you’ve finished batching your post captions, it’s time to choose photographs to go with them. You can also use images from a photoshoot, whether it was done professionally or at home. If you don’t have time for a photoshoot, high-quality stock photography is an excellent alternative.

When batching your social media content, don’t forget to include videos! With many social media platforms (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok videos, etc.) encouraging video content, it’s a great opportunity to mix up your graphics and engage with your audience. Finally, don’t forget to outline or write your videos. When editing and composing video descriptions and titles, this will come in handy.

What about graphics, you wonder? They are more than welcome! Create templates for your most often used graphics while batching content to make the process go faster. Video cover photographs for Reels or IGTV, quotations, and Instagram Story slides are just some of the examples of graphics.

Last but not least, the schedule is of utmost importance, some even call it a game-changer. When you plan your social media calendar weeks (or even months) ahead of time, you’ll be able to keep on top of your posting schedule. You won’t be scrambling to post in the middle of the night, making up captions last-minute, and feeling overwhelmed.

With these steps, your social media will for sure get the attention it deserves!
